Business articles in fashion industry are building up expectations on the biggest discount season to come, starting with Amazon prime day.

Early discounts are hitting margins in the industry also because merchandise hit the shelves extremely late, as lockdown measures slowed down the supply chain, causing the products to miss more than one full month of full price sales. Product life cycle in luxury today is of approximately six months, only three of which at full price, which implies a product lost its exposition on shelf at full price by half.
